Cool Bananas

Guess what!!! The 1st time Nick reads my blog and it was yesterday haha so he now knows what he's getting haha!!! But he did love them all especially the calendar idea!!!! He said maybe it should be weekly rather than monthly haha! yeah ok then!

Its Thats Cool Thursday and i was going to talk about a really cool new kids reading app but i'm going to save that for next week so i thought i'd do another thing for us mummys!!

Today i'm going blonde!!! Eeeeeekkkkkk last time i went blonde was about 10 years ago! But i'm taking our own blog advice and making time for me!!! Granted the children are coming with me but i love the idea of once every 6 weeks i get a day for me to get my hair done!!! Normally as its natural brown i rarely go to the hair dressers so this will make me go!! I am going to the lady who did my wedding hair - can't wait !!!

So yesterday was all about things for husbands so today i'm just going to put up some pics of some things that i'm loving at the moment for me!!!

These are my pics of the week!!!

Hope you all have wonderful Thursdays will show you my hair tomorrow!!

Mummy time

It's the first Monday in December and we think we should start thinking about making some more time for ourselves in the new year!  December is always a busy month so much going on but I was thinking about ordering a brochure from my local Adult Education Centre and starting a new course in the new year!

The courses range from languages to drawing, from cooking to upholstery!  I will try to find a course in the evening and one night a week take some time out for me to learn something new!

I'd love to learn calligraphy or do a drawing painting workshop!

As mummy's we feel guilty about having time for ourselves and time out but I think in order to be the best us we can be we need time for us!

So do something for yourselves today!

In Elf news Ella arrived in our house yesterday - she is Elvis's sister and today she has left some new chairs, Christmas hats and a Christmas DVD!

Buddy has returned to the Andrews house and he's getting up to mischief floating around the living room in an hot air elf balloon!

Happy Monday fellow magic mummy's

Bath time indulgences

A bath has to be one of our best ways to relax here at mummy magic!

Theres nothing better when you have had a rubbish day then a lovely long relaxing soak in the bath.

Even better is when you have the time to indulge in a few bath time beauty treatments and give yourself a little pamper!

Here are our top 3 bath time indulgences, first up is Lee...

A good bath has to start with good bubbles! I love this bubble bath from Soap and Glory 'Calm one Calm all' £6.00. The sent is lovely and very relaxing and it even has an inbuilt body lotion and skin conditioner so you come out feeling all moisturised and smooth!

I think these have been around for absolute years! For as long as i can remember anyways and you can pick them up anywhere for about £1 but i still love them!  Montagne Jeunesse Tea Tree Facial Spa. Its like a fabric mask you put on your face and its full of tea tree and spearmint so its really refreshing and makes your skin go all tingly. I love putting one on whist in the bath and closing my eyes for a little bit. My Skin feels really refreshed afterwards and the tea tree will help with any break outs you might have!

Sanctuary Glowing Skin Exfoliating Gloves £4 I probably don't need to go on about the benefits of exfoliating as i am sure everyone knows but i love these gloves. I really suffer with them little white spots on the backs of my arms and these really help to get rid of them! A few times a week keeps my skin lovely and soft and ready for moisturising.

Next up is Jade .....

Ok so i know this is probably really old lady-ish - however i love Badedas

You can buy this anywhere - Superdrug has it for £6.19.

I'm not sure what it is about it but it just reminds me of baths! I suppose because my mum always uses it so it was always in our family bath room so i always used it!

The scent lasts on your skin too so it makes me feel fresh and clean!!!

Secondly if i'm having a really relaxing bath then i do like to light some candles rather than be in the bath with bright lights!!

Neom do the loveliest candles!! The Enchanted one is on my Christmas list!!

They do travel candles which are smaller for £15 you can buy here neomorganics - i love the Tranquility scent!!

They also do a matching scent Body oil which is to die for!!

Last but by no means least i would have to say i do love feeling moisturised after a bath and i do love the Aromatherapy Associates Bath Oil

I used to use Johnsons baby oil after a bath but i just felt like a slippery mess haha!!!

This De-Stress Mind bath and shower oil is amazing its £39
but it lasts amazingly well!!! www.aromatherapyassociates.com

You can put a cap full in your bath - or just moisturise your body with it and shower off!

For the shower though (eeek don't Leeanne i'm on number 4) i do love love love the new Nivea in shower body moisteriser!!!!!!!

Do you have any firm bath time favourites that we "need" to have in our lives? We'd love to know

Happy Monday

I Need Hair Care

I've always tried to take care of my hair! Ive dyed it a million times, had it all cut off, let it grow, get a bob, let it grow, go blonde, go dark etc etc etc and my hair has always remained thick and healthy!!!

That was until i had the Mirena Coil fitted (sob sob)! I had the coil put in in November 2012 and its now July 2013 and my hair is just constantly falling out!!! Like when i brush it there is always loads on the brush and when i wash it it just comes out in my hand!! I guess having alot of hair helps that thankfully i'm not yet bald however my ponytail has lost at least a 1/4 of its thickness!!!!

"get it taken out then" i hear you shout! Oh if only it was that easy!! The Dr can't get it out and so i am patiently waiting for an appointment to a specialist to get it out!!! TMI!

I had alopecia as a child at the back of my head and so i'm overly paranoid and keep getting my mum to check!

So i decided that i best try and keep my hair in as best of condition as i can!! I've always loved Redken however i've never had to really go out of my way to buy it as ive always had good hair with cheaper brands!

My mum and I were shopping and we went past a hairdressers which had the Redken All Soft in the window and so i thought i should purchase!!

I also went into Superdrug and bought This One Gets Locks Glam Again

The Redken is lovely!! Really makes my hair feel healthy nourished after each wash!!! My hair doesn't feel as dry or brittle and definately has more shine!!!

The Get Locks Glam Again - I AM IN LOVE WITH!!! It really is a fab treatment! I am using it once a week! and its 2 for £7!!! Bargain!!! This is my new fave hair care product my hair feels so much better! Granted its still coming out but atleast it looks better when its going down the plug hole!

All the Gear, No Idea!

On the never ending journey to 'goal weight' and pre pregancy Miranda moment jeans (SATC fans you will appreciate this) we have decided to join a gym!

We have both joined gyms before but the thing thats different this time is that they both have creches!!! Whoop de whoop whoop!

Its all well and good joining the gym and saying you will go when your other half gets home but in reality after looking after 2 little people all day by the time your hubby gets home the only running your ready to do most days is running to the bathroom for a nice long bath in peace and quiet!

Thats why we needed a gym with a creche! Unfortunately these just aren't as common as you would think? Theres a real gap in the market here that someone needs to address? Surely mummy's are a huge target market? Anyways we found some gyms with creches and we joined them and this is our first week!

We are planning to go twice in the week and then on a weekend as a family for an hours workout followed by a family swim and anything extra will be a bonus!

We both entered the ballot for the London Virgin Marathon this yr eeeeek! Jade has a place already though the charity 'Fight for Sight' and i'm waiting to hear if i was successful in the ballot come October but we really need to get training for it!

So we have our shiny new (neon pink whoop whoop) trainers ready set to go!!

Wish us luck, we will let you know how the training is going!

Our favourite family App !!

We all aim to keep memories of our children - embarrassing photos to look through with their new boyfriend or girlfriend or for when they have children and wonder if they look the same!

Leeanne and I bought the Happiness project Journal books - a five year 1 sentence a day journal about the day.  We jumped at the this idea thinking how perfect for our children to look back on.  I lasted maybe 6 weeks of writing every day and then we went to Spain and the journal didn't make the packing cut - i thought i would keep track on my phone and fill in when i got home - but after 4 weeks in the sun this never happened!!!

Whilst browsing the App Store last week searching for toddler holiday apps i came across the Day One App and to say we are now addicted is an understatement haha!

Its so easy and simple just take a picture from your iPhone and upload and if you want to write a description you can if not it can just be a photo journal! And the best thing is you can export it to a PDF which is amazing !!!

Perfect for a mummy who has the best intentions of keeping a journal but realistically there aren't enough hours in the day for me!!

A Nail Varnish that actually lasts !!

Product Under Review : Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay 7 days in Nude Rose.

Gone are the days when a manicure isn't a huge treat! Those days when i used to work in London and be able to pop out for a new nail colour in my lunch break just because! Today's manicures are a rush job with a few smudges as your toddler is demanding something or other!

Nail varnish lasts a max of 24 hours on me unless i have Bio Sculpture but at £40 a go i decided i would rather be buying my children clothes haha - so when i saw this Maybelline Gel Nail Color it sounded too good to be true!!!

5 days in and not a chip!!! I repeat NOT A CHIP with all the bottle washing up, the laundry, playing cars, feeding rabbits - not a single chip! Granted they are not super shiny but today i have simply painted another coat on top and the shine is back!!!

It has a thick brush which i liked and was easy to apply! It does take a while to dry but it is so worth the 15 minutes of walking round the house like your in MJ's Thriller video!

Its amazing how one simple (pre baby taken for granted) task can make you feel so much better!!!

All Hail Maybelline

Happy 1st Blog Day

Happy 1st Blogday to us

Happy Monday and welcome to our first blog.

We are Jade and Leeanne, two best friends, two mummy's with two 3 year old girls called Honey and Sienna and two 1 year old boys called Rocco and Tate and two 30 something husbands called Nick and Chris.

We've been reading some blogs for a while with envy but secretly neither of us thought we were interesting enough to start a blog on our own so we decided to join forces.

*cue Xfactor stylee voice over* When the power of two mummy's combine we become... super magical mummy's!! (Sorry we may have watched one to many cartoons!)

We couldn't find a blog which was really us - there are lots of mummy ones, lots of toddler ones, lots of fashion ones, lots of make up ones, lots of baking ones but not with all of these things in one place!

We are always finding and sharing ideas about kids, food, shopping, beauty, food, (oops is that food twice) and finding ways to get our sparkle back. We want to be us again not just someones mummy, it is the best job in the whole wide world, but we do actually have real names haha

Our blog will consist of:
  • Mummy Monday's: Which will be products we love, tips to get your sparkle back, mummy time
  • Toddler Tuesday's: Fun things to do, fashion, help and tips
  • Wish for Wednesday's: Present ideas for everyone
  • Thats Cool Thursday's: A review of our favourite things, inspirations, recommendations
  • Fashion Fix Friday's: Mummy fashion - obtainable and school run wearable
  • Scrumptious Saturday's : Baking, favourite recipes, family, diet
  • Surprise Sunday's: The world is our oyster

We hope you love our blog and thanks for joining us on our blogging adventure
