I do love an Ikea shop - as in a full wander around browsing and thinking how i can change my kitchen, lounge, lighting etc! It always seems affordable and cool all in one!
So when i saw this amazing piece i instantly knew i need it in my home!
How cool is this!!!!
Its like a dream come true for me! I have so many bits i like to display but literally nowhere "safe" enough from the children's reach!
I truly feel like this cabinet could go in any room in my whole house!!!
In Honey's room with her first ballet shoes, Christening gifts, first photo etc all those keepsakes that get hidden away!
In my lounge with our framed wedding photos, my heirloom family china, our engagement Swarovski champagne flutes, our Tiffany crystal bowls (all those things i hide from the children)
In my kitchen with glasses, cook books, my mums special tea cups and saucers, my nan's tea set which takes pride of place above the aga but i'm terrified of it falling!
In my bedroom with my wedding tiara, photos, jewellery box, things my mum has passed down to me.
I just love the idea of everything being displayed in such a lovely unique way!
So the bad news is when i looked at the price i was a bit shocked! I mean i'm sure its the most expensive thing in Ikea at £395! i know its expensive!!! But to justify i think its a piece that would last a lifetime and somewhere when i'm old and still brunette (hair dye) that i will still treasure all my favourite things in!
www.ikea.com you can see it here on the Ikea website!
If any of you have seen anything similar for maybe half the price please please please let me know!!!

Friday 13th oooooohhhhhhhh
Happy Friday 13th!!!
I can't wait for our Halloween Party and all our Halloween decorations and treats! So seeing as this is Friday i thought i'd mix it up a bit and do a bit of everything!!! Halloween is another expense just before christmas so these are cheap ideas too!!! Hooray!!
First up Costumes!
Honey loves dressing up and Rocco well he has no choice yet haha!!!
Last year Honey was a witch and Rocco a spider so this year i'm wondering what i can do! I'd like to do a duo in all honesty! Tesco always do some great ones! And i love looking on Pinterest at the amazing ideas they have!!!
But if you were looking for something a little bit cheaper and easier (yes please!) this is a great idea!
Most little girls have a princess fancy dress so just use that and then with some face paint they can be Dracula Aurora / Dracula Minnie Mouse! And the boys with superman / batman costumes and can be Dracula Batman / Scary Superman and it only about £2 for some face paints!!! hahaha This is Honey as Dracula Minnie - an eyeliner widows peak and mono brow and a dracula dummy and the jobs a goodun !!!!
Secondly Treats!
We never ever get Trick or Treaters so i never have to have sweets ready (boooo) but how cool do these look - its all about the presentation!!! Honey will love making these!!
The top ghost is just a rock! How cool is that and you can go rock collecting in the morning! The Toilet roll monsters are fab and again super easy! I love hand print / foot print cards - something to keep and treasure!!! All really easy and cheap!!
Happy Friday 13th may your days be filled with luck

Thirdly Games I absolutely can't wait to do this - how brilliant!!! and super easy!!! It will keep the children entertained for ages!! You could always just use an orange ball instead of a pumpkin! But i think the pumpkin is fab! And the tins make a great day time activity!!! Win Win!
Fourthly Pumpkin Decoration
Last year i got some templates and cut them out with a knife etc - so time consuming!!! I recently saw on Pinterest a lady using Cookie Cutters to cut her pumpkin!!!
We have some halloween cookie cutters and it looks so much easier than using the little knifes etc and the kids can help hammer!!!
Fifth and Final Halloween Tip - Halloween crafts to keep them busy!!!!

I want I want an initial necklace!!!
Leeanne and I are avid Kardashian show watchers!!!! We love it!!! In a recent show Kourtney had some silk pyjamas on that we were both in love with so on the internet i hopped and they were from Victoria Secrets!!! So on the phone to my hubby (who conveniently works in London) and hey presto that night we had a pair of new silk pyjamas each hahahaha!!!!
So when we saw Kourtney with this lovely initial necklace on and Giuliana Rancic (oh how we wish we were married to Bill some days - not on the days we need silk pyjamas though haha) with these lovely initial bangles - we thought oooooooohhhhhhh i would love one of those!!!
So off leeanne went to google and found that it was by Jennifer Meyer and for one initial it cost £1180
DREAM necklace!!!! you can buy here at Net A Porter
We love initial necklaces and i can't wait for mine to arrive!!!! And i know that i will probably buy the disc ones from Etsy too haha x

Mums BIG Bday!
My mum is the big 70 is October and this year i'm trying to be prepared and little things she mentions she needs i'm ordering so i don't forget!!
Normally we would have organised a party however my mum has specifically said NO party!! Instead of a party she has asked my dad for an eye lift and face lift. I'm all for a little nip and tuck if it makes her feel better and thats what she wants! This also means i now only have to worry about buying presents from me and not my dad too! I would of probably gone for a new designer handbag!
So here are some ideas for mums big day!!!
My mum loves jewellery and we at a little mummy magic love Kate Spade!
Kate Spade Skinny Mini Pave Bangle

About 2 years ago i came across a fabulous idea!!! I've had to wait 2 years to finally sort it haha!
So the idea is as its my mums 70th so i will have to get 70.
I will soon be emailing, phoning, texting 70 members of my mums friends and family to write a favourite memory or add a favourite picture of them with my mum. They will then hopefully post/email them back to me and on her bday i will present her with 70 envelopes for her to read at her leisure!
Thank you nothingbutbonfires.com for this fab idea!!!
My mum and dad have 8 grandchildren in total (3 from each of brothers and 2 from me .... so far haha) The grandchildren range from 22 years to 22 months and my mum does not have a picture of all of them together! So over the summer holiday this is my task! A nice family picture for her kitchen.
Mummy P has also just acquired an iphone so i also think i will get the picture made into a case for her as she will love that and can have it with her at all times!!! I will use www.case-mate.co.uk
A few years ago i got all of her old pictures and scanned them into a Bob Books it was her whole life story all in pictures and it now sits proudly on her coffee table!
I hope there are a few ideas here to help!!!!

Lovely one dish Chicken
This dish is a firm family favourite!!! I love making it as its simple and not much washing up!!!
"Crispy and sticky chicken thighs with squashed new potatoes and tomatoes"
by Jamie Oliver, Jamie At Home

Ingredients: (serves 4)
800g new potatoes, scrubbed
sea salt and freshly ground pepper
12 boned chicken thighs skin on (i use breast too)
Olive oil
600g cherry tomatoes different shapes and colours
A bunch of oregano
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Red Wine Vinegar
Put the potatoes into a large saucepan of salted boiling water and boil until cooked.
While potatoes are cooking preheat your oven to 200C/400F/gas6. Cut each chicken thigh into 3 strips and place in a bowl. Rub the meat all over with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper, then toss. Heat a large frying pan, big enough to hold all the chicken pieces snugly in one layer, put the chicken into the pan skin side down. You can do in batches if your frying pan isn't big enough. Fry over a high heat for 10 mins or so, until almost cooked, then remove to an oven proof dish.
Prick the tomatoes with a sharp knife. Place them in a bowl, cover with boiling water and leave for a minute or so. Drain and, when cool enough to handle, pinch off their skins. You don't have to but this makes them really sweet and the flavour will infuse the potatoes. By now the potatoes should be cooked. Drain them in a colander and then lightly crush them by pushing down on them with your thumb.
Bash up most of the oregano leaves with a pinch of salt in a pestle and mortar (i use dried oregano and just sprinkle over the dish. Add 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, a good splash of red wine vinegar and some pepper and mix it all up. Add this to the chicken along with the potatoes, the tomatoes and some more oregano leaves. Mix everything carefully and lay it all out so its on a single layer on a roasting tin and back for 40 mins in the preheated oven until golden.
This is lovely served with rocket salad!!
My children love this and my husband always asks for it!!! Winner winner Chicken Dinner!!!

Our favourite family App !!
We all aim to keep memories of our children - embarrassing photos to look through with their new boyfriend or girlfriend or for when they have children and wonder if they look the same!
Leeanne and I bought the Happiness project Journal books - a five year 1 sentence a day journal about the day. We jumped at the this idea thinking how perfect for our children to look back on. I lasted maybe 6 weeks of writing every day and then we went to Spain and the journal didn't make the packing cut - i thought i would keep track on my phone and fill in when i got home - but after 4 weeks in the sun this never happened!!!
Whilst browsing the App Store last week searching for toddler holiday apps i came across the Day One App and to say we are now addicted is an understatement haha!

Its so easy and simple just take a picture from your iPhone and upload and if you want to write a description you can if not it can just be a photo journal! And the best thing is you can export it to a PDF which is amazing !!!
Perfect for a mummy who has the best intentions of keeping a journal but realistically there aren't enough hours in the day for me!!
