Apps im currently loving!

I love hearing about fab new apps people are using so i thought today i would share with you some of my current favourites!

First up is Artkive

This is a brillant app that allows you to take pictures of your childs artwork and log the date, time and a note about the picture. It stores it all in a folder by age or school year so you can easily look back without having to keep every single piece of art they ever do! I love it!

The next app im currently loving is Duolingo

Described by the Duolingo peeps as a free language education for the world i have to say this is brilliant! Its a step by step language course and you cant carry on to the next lesson till you pass the one your currently in. It teaches you to write the language as well as speak and theres a choice of 6 languages you can learn. For a free app i think this is fabulous!!

Lastly are 2 apps that work with each other. Any.DO and Cal

Any.DO is a fabulous award winning task app. You can list all your to do's quickly and easily under different folders like home, work and all that jazz and if you have the cal app to (which is a calendar app) it integrates perfectly and adds all your to do's into your calendar so you know what your schedule for your days looks like! With the Cal app you invite peeps from your contact lists to events you have put in your calendar and i know it doesn't sound that amazingly different to the standard calendar on your phone but trust me its fabulous and it looks better and its just fab (i know i said that twice in one sentence).

The Any.DO app is super cute too it has a little personality and it calls me beautiful so i just love it.

And when you work through scheduling your tasks it finishes with cute messages Then i'm all, hell yeah i'm a boss and anything IS possible today!

So there you go, my fave apps at the moment! Let me know if you download them and love them too! Or if theres any amazing apps we need to know about! Sharing is caring.

Perfect DIY Gifts for a Perfect Day

Who doesn't love a wedding? Some Bride and Grooms are super easy to buy for or some might even have a gift list taking the stress of thinking of something away from you! But what if you don't fall into these categories and your thinking eeeek what do i get?

I love giving presents that people wont expect. Gifts that are sentimental and mean something or at least be something that i have had to put a little effort into!

An amazing present that will be treasured forever doesn't need to cost a fortune. There are tons of ideas that with a little time and maybe a trip to a craft store you can make yourself and and can look like you bought it! Plus when the Bride and Groom realised you took the time and effort to make it yourself they will be super touched. Or at least i know i would be!

Heres some of my fave DIY gifts for a wedding present:

This scrabble board in a frame is such a lovely gift! Jade and my lovely friends all made me one for my birthday this year and i love it! Its super easy to do. Just buy a game of scrabble and then hot glue the tiles to the board spelling out words that mean something to the couple your giving it too. Then get a RIBBA 50x50 frame from ikea and hot glue the board to the mount in the frame! The girls covered my mount in some lovely wallpaper but you can do whatever you like! If that sounds a bit much for you but you like the idea the board pictured is from Scrabble Frames by Roxy

I found this cute idea for champagne glasses over on the Something Turquoise blog and if you click here it will take you to the tutorial. You could make one each with the couples first name initial on it or you could buy some sticky letters from a craft store and spell out anything you like! Team this with a lovely bottle of Champagne (Laurent Perrier Rose is my fave choice) and you have a lovely gift! If you wanted to spend a little more too theres a fab wine box here that says open on your 1st anniversary or you could make a little tag saying something similar.

This is a lovely sentimental present! You could do one heart for where the bride and groom met, one for where they are getting married and one for where they live. Just buy a cheap map containing the places you want to use and then I would suggest finding something heart shaped and drawing round it to make them all the same size and cut them out. Then stick them to a piece of card and frame it! Easy peasy. If you dont want to do it yourself this picture is from Bombus.co.uk

I really love this old horseshoe i found on pinterest. The link to buy/make it is broken but i would suggest getting an old horseshoe (lots for sale on ebay for only a couple pounds) and then tying some lovely wide ribbon to it. I really love the little metal message on this one but that would be hard to do without spending lots of money on handstamping equipment so instead you could get a little luggage tag (attach to the top where the ribbon meets the horseshoe) and write a little message of love luck and happiness on it instead.

Hope this has been of some use to you or inspired you to come up with something else! We would love to hear your ideas too, you can leave them in the comment box below.

Our Make Up Must Haves!!!

Its Monday again! Today we thought we would write about our 3 must have make up items that we use everyday and cry when they run out!!!

First up is Jade...

My number 1 fave is Benefit BADgal liner Waterproof £15
I wear this everyday! Its stays on all day! Makeup wise i couldn't live without an eyeliner! I feel naked without it on! Mascara i can take or leave but eyeliner is a must!!!

Number 2 i'm going with Laura Mercier Tinted Moisteriser in Sand £33
I love the feel of this product - it is moisterising doesn't dry my skin and you can layer it for a higher coverage!!!

Number 3 is Nars Sheep Lipstick in Roman Holiday £18.50

You've got to love a bit of lippy (wow i sound like my mum) - and Honey particularly likes drawing with this one (cue the tears - mine not Honeys).  I can't wear red lipstick i look really weird in it but pink i love! And this pink is fabulous!!!

And now for Leeannes fave 3...

So number 1 on my list is Chanel 'Le Blanc De Chanel' Sheer illuminating base. This has been in my make up bag for years (recently reformulated). I never ever feel tempted to try anything else as i just love it. It reduces redness and once combined with my foundation (Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua) my pores are barely visible and my skin looks amazing with a healthy glow!

Number 2 on my faves list has to be Benefit's 'Posetint'. Its a gorgeous pink colour and super versatile. I keep mine in my handbag and whenever i need a mid day perk up this will add a flash of colour to my cheeks and lips in a jiffy.

Number 3 is YSL 'Touche Eclat". There cannot be a woman alive who doesn't know about or rate this concealer. It speaks for itself and its a definite must for any mummy with little people who do not sleep!

We would love to hear what your top 3 cant live without makeup items are, so leave us a comment with them below!

Happy Monday

No More Panda Eyes

Product under review: Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof Mascara £22

If i were only allowed 1 item of makeup for the rest of my life it would most definitely be mascara! As im sure you know all about our holiday by now but when you go on holiday you NEED a good waterproof mascara! There is nothing worse than panda eyes by the pool... well maybe ageing men in speedos but lets not go there!

Me and Jade managed a mad dash around World Duty Free (aka heaven) at the airport and amongst one of our purchases was Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof Mascara.

So im going to be totally honest here, if you want amazing super full long lashes than this is not the mascara for you! I know Lancôme say to add more coats for fuller lashes but its too clumpy for my liking. But... if you want a decent mascara for everyday use that WILL NOT smudge than this is brilliant!

Ive been in the pool, bath, shower, cried, rubbed my eyes and even ashamedly slept in this mascara and not once have i ever had panda eyes!

I'd highly recommend this mascara for cry babies like me (yes i do cry at anything!!) as a fab every day mascara. At least you know whatever the day throws at you your mascara will not be running down your face!

Best Toddler Swimming Aid!!!

For the last 5 months i have been busily researching the best armbands, swim floats etc for my children for holiday!

I bought the speedo roll on armbands but they just seemed to wide and didn't allow Honey (3) to bend her arms very well.  I also bought the BEMA armbands for Rocco (1).  I wasn't happy with the Speedos so i also bought the Delphin Arm Bands, which i had heard great things about and how they are used for swimming tuition etc.

Then the week before we were leaving i heard a few horror stories and just got this pang of doubt so had another internet search!!!!

I finally came across the Sevylor Puddle Jumper and found them on Amazon.co.uk

So we are on holiday and to say they are the best thing ever is a complete understatement!!!!
Honey is loving jumping in and they keep her on top of the water - Rocco is floating around and kicking his legs and even if he twists onto his back he manages to spin back!!! I have felt so much more relaxed as they can't take them off by themselves so when they are on they are on!!! It has put them both into the natural swimming position too rather than legs down their legs are up and kicking!!

I LOVE THIS !!!!!

Happy Swimming

A Nail Varnish that actually lasts !!

Product Under Review : Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay 7 days in Nude Rose.

Gone are the days when a manicure isn't a huge treat! Those days when i used to work in London and be able to pop out for a new nail colour in my lunch break just because! Today's manicures are a rush job with a few smudges as your toddler is demanding something or other!

Nail varnish lasts a max of 24 hours on me unless i have Bio Sculpture but at £40 a go i decided i would rather be buying my children clothes haha - so when i saw this Maybelline Gel Nail Color it sounded too good to be true!!!

5 days in and not a chip!!! I repeat NOT A CHIP with all the bottle washing up, the laundry, playing cars, feeding rabbits - not a single chip! Granted they are not super shiny but today i have simply painted another coat on top and the shine is back!!!

It has a thick brush which i liked and was easy to apply! It does take a while to dry but it is so worth the 15 minutes of walking round the house like your in MJ's Thriller video!

Its amazing how one simple (pre baby taken for granted) task can make you feel so much better!!!

All Hail Maybelline
