Recycle your summer dresses

Well lets face it its freezing outside now! Like really freezing and its super sucky! I hate having to wear a coat and take 9000 layers and accessories out and about with us and say goodbye to my flip flops!

How annoying is it taking winter footwear on and off, you have to sit down and pull your boots off rather than just release the flip flop and flick them off. I do realise that sounds ridiculous and lazy but its true!

Having said that though it is nice being all snuggly in a wooly jumper and wearing cosy tights! Theres something about Autumn fashion that makes you breathe a little sigh of relief and makes you feel comfortable!

No more summer dresses! Or so you think!! Here is a fab idea to recycle your summer dresses into Autumn.

Just take your summer dress and layer it up with a sweater over the top and add some tights and boots and your fit for an autumn day!

You could also try adding a long sleeved fitted top underneath some of your fave summer tops or add a nice chunky cardigan? It wont work for every dress or top but it would deffo work with some!

Give it a go mix and match and layer some items up and you might be surprised with some whole new outfits you never realised you had!

Autumn Fashion - Tights!

Hip Hip Hooray its Friday!!!

Whilst magazine browsing i saw the new Russell and Bromley ad and i loved the look !

Its a perfect work/school run/ sunday lunch/ date/ out with the girls universal look!

And in my opinion everyone has got some items in their wardrobes to pull this off without actually having to spend very much!

Its more the tights i'm loving as a statement! So you could switch the skirt/jumper/shirt combo for a black casual dress with a statement necklace and if you wanted to wear heels to jazz up your day to night look that would work too!!

Rain Rain go away!

Brrrrr how cold is it already? Im pretty sure last week the sun was shining and we were enjoying playing outside and now its raining and all chilly! Well i guess it really is hello there Autumn.

I have to be honest i dread the cold and rainy winters. Theres so much super fun stuff that goes on in winter don't get me wrong but just normal day to day life in the bad weather when your a stay at home mum is hard work! Everyone gets cabin fever and you don't realise till the sunshine comes back just how happier it makes everyones moods.

I've decided i'm going to try my hardest this Autumn/Winter not to let us all get fed up! So i am planning lots of fun activities for us all to do and if its raining and my kids want to go to the park, we will go to the park and we will get wet and we will jump in puddles and get covered in mud and we will make happy fun memories to treasure!

Its a rainy September day here and i have a very bored Sienna so first up on our Autumn activity list is Cloud Dough!

Its really easy to make and you probably already have the stuff in its just 8 cups of flour to 1 cup of baby oil!

I used one of the drawers from the Ikea toy storage to mix it in but you could use a baking tray too? Something with a nice flat area for them to be able to play with it would be ideal!

So i added my 8 cups of flour...

Then i added in 1 cup of baby oil

Then mix it all together. You might need to use your hands towards the end.

Ta Daaa! Cloud Dough, its a bit like crumble mix in texture but don't be tempted to eat it.

Now to see what Sienna thinks...

She loved it!!

I gave her a few of her play dough toys to use with it and she's been happily playing with this for the past hour! Its so quick and easy and something a bit different then play dough for them to experience. The tub was perfect as the higher sides stopped her from getting it all over for the mums who aren't fond of mess! I will deffo be making this again and again!

No White after Labour day!

We are officially into September now and that means summer is over! I know i know i'm super sad too! It feels like summer barely got started and before we know it we are planning for halloween and christmas!

The Americans have a fashion rule 'No White after Labour day', which basically means pack up your whites as they are not welcome in your autumn/winter wardrobe! Labour day falls on the first Monday of September so unless you're to be a bride White is no longer considered acceptable attire till next spring.

So its time for lovely Autumn shades of creams, browns and comfy cosy outfits!
