Birchbox - October 2013

Hey there hi there ho there! Its Sunday whoop! We are off to church then shopping and family time! I love Sundays they are the best because all my family is together for the whole day!

Anyways moving on to todays post - The Birchbox!

Birchbox is a monthly subscription beauty box. So its the same principle and price as Glossybox where you get to try different beauty samples but just a different company. After not feeling to enthusiastic with Glossybox recently I decided to give it a try and cancelled my glossybox subscription. My first box arrived this week and i love it!

I love the packaging design the brown kraft paper coloured box is really nice and a nice size too. Its a little smaller than the Glossybox and theres a cute little bag everything comes in which will come in handy.

Theres nothing here i am disappointed with! It all looks fab and i can't wait to try everything. I can't believe how much there is too in comparison to Glossybox. I'm not sure if this is because its my first box I'm sure ill find that out next month.

So far so good, loving everything about Birchbox!

Glossybox - September 2013

Yay !!!!! I've been a little bit disgruntled with Glossybox this last 2 months so when this months arrived i asked Leeanne if i could review it as i LOVED it!!!!

Not only did i love the box!!!

But the products were super ace too!!!!! 

So here's a little breakdown

Elizabeth Arden - Untold fragrance sample

I would never normally go for an Elizabeth Arden fragrance - but its actually quite lovely. Its Floral and Fruity and perfect for my handbag!!!

I heart false lashes!!! I love how glam you feel on a night out with a set of false eyelashes on!!! Eylure are my fave brand too so it was a win win!!!! Happy Days!!!

Toni & Guy - HairMeet Wardrobe - Classic Shine and Gloss Serum 

Its in a ltd edition packaging and does exactly what it says on the tin haha!!! I'm not a big serum fan - i always seem to look like i have greasy hair! However (since the dreaded coil and split hair) this is a little bit of a life saver keeping all my little flyaway bits in place!!!!! I'm loving it!!!! Thank you Toni & Guy!!

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics - Onyx Eye Liner 

Mine was broken (sob sob) but i ordered my mum a monthly glossybox as a treat and she's not a huge eyeliner fan so ta da i have my own! Its like a felt tip with a fab point! It says it lasts all day and great for a cat eye or straight out to replicate A/W 2013 catwalk looks!!! and anything thats that easy to get the in look is good with me!!!

Lastly but by no means leastly

Dr Lipp - Original Nipple Balm for Lips 

This is my favourite sample in the Union Jack box!!! Its a cult beauty staple for leaving lips smooth and soft with a glossy sheen!!! Its a mummy bag essential!!! you know when you don't want to put lipstick on but need something!!! Its uses are brilliant -  chapped lips, burns, abrasions, minor incisions, cuticles, eczema and any extreme dry skin patches!!! Wait for it .... it can also be used to mix pigments, eye glitter, shaping eyebrows and last minute shoe polish!!! See its the perfect Handbag essential item!!!!!

Honey has  been recently licking her lips lots and all around her mouth was all bright red - i put Dr Lipp on it three times throughout the day and over night and there was nothing there in the morning!! The red mark was all gone like magic!! I will definately be buying a bigger tube for my bag

Glossybox - August 2013

Another month another glossybox! This months theme was 'Highflyers' so beauty products from around the globe.

So lets see whats inside the box this month!

So we are back to the usual glossybox design with the pink box and black tissue paper which makes me happy as it co-ordinates with my other boxes which i am using to store my makeup and skincare.

I have to be honest and say i feel a tad underwhelmed upon opening my glossybox this month!

First up is Oceane Makeup Remover Pen (not yet available in the UK). Oceane originates from Brazil. This pen is intended for use on the go when you need to touch up or remove makeup. It looks handy but im not too sure how much i will really use it.

Next we have Emite Make Up Eyelash Curlers originating from Sweden and retail at approx £20.

These look quite good and eyelash curlers are always handy so i'm quite pleased with this!

TREsemme Platinum Strength Concentrated Treatment Shot, from the U. S of A Full size 15ml £1.49.

I always love a hair treatment so this will be nice to try.

Olay Regenerist (South Africa) 3 point treatment cream. Full size would be 50ml and £29.99.

The cream is quite nice but i think i am a little young to be needing this just yet. Fortunately for me i don't have sagging skin or many fine lines and wrinkles so i cant really vouch for the benefits.

Last up is Jelly Pong Pong a UK company and their 2 in 1 shadow/liner full size would be £10.50

This is the second Jelly Pong Pong product i have had in a glossybox and whilst i really liked their mascara i just didn't like this at all to be honest. It slides on easily but slides off to just as easy and trying to smudge into an eyeshadow i ended up with more on my fingers than my eyes.

So to sum up this months box i have to say i was a bit disappointed! But then for £10 i guess i can't be too upset. I think i like it when you get actual make up bits to try. Hope next months box is a bit better.

July 2013 Glossybox - Seaside Splash

Hey Dolls! Well i promised i would let you know about what was in my Glossyboxes so here is July's box. This is my third Glossybox now and as its summertime (and it really is, whoop sunshine) the usual pink box has been replaced with this gorgeous blue and coral box.

I love the boxes and now i have a few i'm going to start organising my different bits and bobs of the beauty world in them as they are too pretty to throw away!

So whats inside i hear you cry? Well let me show you!

Everything always comes wrapped in lovely tissue paper and tied with ribbon! Its all about the packing!! Every month you also get a leaflet which has Glossybox news and tips in and also gives you a full description of each product in your box and how you should apply it!

So this is July's box. The contents of the boxes will vary from person to person so you really never know what your going to get. I love the surprise! 

So lets take a closer look at whats in the box.

Ciaté London Paint pot in Island Hopping £9.00 Full size 13.5ml.

 I would never ever pick up this shade in a shop but i absolutley love it on! Its like a corally, pinky, orangey, sparkly red and is really easy to apply!

Coola Organic Suncare Collection Mineral Face SPF20 Rose Essence Tint £29.00 full size 50ml Sample size 7ml

I liked how light this felt and it took no time at all to sink into my skin, the shade is probably a little to light for me at the moment as i have a tan but i will pop this away for later in the year.

Nip+Fab Spot Fix or Shine Fix Full size 15ml £9.95

This looks fab and its a full size sample too! I'm yet to try it as i haven't had any spots yet but i tried a bit on my hand and its lovely, no sticky residue and had a nice tingle to it which makes me think its actually doing something haha 

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist £23.00 full size 125ml

I havent had chance to try this product yet either but after finally getting to grips with Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray ill be interested to see how this stacks up against that. Its a nice sized sample too!

Anatomicals Spray Misty for me Spritz £6.00 Full size 100ml

Another full sized sample and wow who doesn't need this at the moment in this heat! Super refreshing although if i am being picky the spray could do with being a bit finer. The raindrop in my eye didn't go down to well (must remember to close eyes)

Surprises in the Mail

If your anything like me and Jade, your always split between trying to be the bestest mummy possible and trying to get your sparkle back! You know that little glimmer you used to have before those lovely little people you made entered your life? Before the sleepless nights of babies and the endless days of questions from your relentless threenager? That time when you could spend lazy sundays bathing, preening and all day looking through 'In Style' reading about the latest beauty products?

Yep we love to get lost in that lovely dreamyland too, but how can we bring it into our reality? Grabbing the occassional few hours with a mag and coffee in peace is a huge luxury these days. Who has the time to be reading up whats new and fab in the beauty world? We may make the effort to read up once every few months but then when do we actually get round to purchasing these new products to make us feel fab and somewhat like our old sparkly selves? Theres always something the little ones need and lets face it they always come first (and rightly so)!

So thats why when Jade mentioned to me about 'Glossy Box' a few months ago i thought wow what a fab idea!

The concept is simple! Every month you receive a lovely box (its always all about the packaging) containing 5 luxury beauty samples. Its delivered straight to your door and every month theres something new! How perfect is that for us mummy's? We get to try out fab new products before we part with our pennies on full sized items that we might not love! There's a range of subscription services the most expensive being £10 per month + £2.95 p&p. But lets face it whats £12.95 a month really? A couple of starbucks? Well worth it for the excitement of sending yourself a present in the post every month and being able to try lots of new products without having to spend lots of money!

I signed up for my first month this month and am so excited for it to arrive! I'll be sure to let you know what i think when my first box comes!
