Making Time

So last Mummy Monday we talked about looking after our minds by taking up a course and this week we are going to talk about looking after our bodies! No diet talk though cause its christmas and your just a crazy person if you can diet over crimbo! (no offence to the crazy people we are only jealous really).

I don't know about anyone else but when the cold weather rolls around we just feel a bit blurgh!

The healthy eating stops and all we want is stodge, our days are so busy at the moment we make very little effort with things like painting our nails, shaving our legs etc we can't be bothered to go to the gym, basically we just go to ruin!

Tell us we are not alone please!!

We are so wrapped up in the kids and work and making christmas super magical that we forget about looking after ourselves!

So we are making a pact! A pact to make sure we take a little time for ourselves. To visit the hairdressers. To make time to have our eyebrows done, to take time to paint our nails, to take 5 mins to fake tan! To take a little time to just make the effect to do the things that make you feel better about yourself.

We all say we have no time but we do really we just have to make the effort to find the time, and if we make the effort we will feel so much better about ourselves! Don't loose your mummy sparkle in all the christmas sparkle.

Who's in on the pact with us?

Have a fab Monday everyone!

Random acts of kindness

Have you ever seen that movie 'Pay it Forward'? If you haven't you really must and make sure you have some tissues! And for those that have you will know what i mean when i say wow what a powerful message!

Paying it forward is basically performing 3 acts of random kindness and instead of the recipient of the kindness repaying you, they then pay if forward to 3 more people. Those people will then go on and pay it forward and acts of kindness will spread and grow and the world will be a nicer place! A simple concept to spread kindness starting with just one person!

Whilst i do like to live in an ideal world i am fully aware that we actually don't and whilst many people would carry this concept forward there will be some that break the chain. But this doesn't mean you can't do something?

Why not do random acts of kindness for no reason other than being nice? This is something you can do with your children too (if you have little peeps).

  • You could leave your postman something yummy you home baked with a note saying thanks for delivering our mail.
  • Leave a £5 gift card with a note for someone to treat themselves on a table in a bookshop.
  • When your next popping to the shop, knock a few neighbours doors and ask if they need anything picking up.
  • Offer to write an elderly relative or neighbours christmas cards and do their wrapping
  • Take a box of cupcakes or Krispy Kreme's down to your local fire station to say thank you.
  • Gather up some colouring books and craft supplies and take them down to the local children's hospital
  • In the queue at Starbucks? Pay for the person behind you's coffee too.
  • Those little 20p sweetie machines you see out and about? Leave a 20p on the top!
These are just a few ideas of random acts of kindness, i'm sure you can think of many more of your own! The point is as well as being kind to your family and friends, spread some kindness everywhere you go! To people you may never even meet, you might make their day and inspire them to do the same!

Have a beautiful Monday!

All the Gear, No Idea!

On the never ending journey to 'goal weight' and pre pregancy Miranda moment jeans (SATC fans you will appreciate this) we have decided to join a gym!

We have both joined gyms before but the thing thats different this time is that they both have creches!!! Whoop de whoop whoop!

Its all well and good joining the gym and saying you will go when your other half gets home but in reality after looking after 2 little people all day by the time your hubby gets home the only running your ready to do most days is running to the bathroom for a nice long bath in peace and quiet!

Thats why we needed a gym with a creche! Unfortunately these just aren't as common as you would think? Theres a real gap in the market here that someone needs to address? Surely mummy's are a huge target market? Anyways we found some gyms with creches and we joined them and this is our first week!

We are planning to go twice in the week and then on a weekend as a family for an hours workout followed by a family swim and anything extra will be a bonus!

We both entered the ballot for the London Virgin Marathon this yr eeeeek! Jade has a place already though the charity 'Fight for Sight' and i'm waiting to hear if i was successful in the ballot come October but we really need to get training for it!

So we have our shiny new (neon pink whoop whoop) trainers ready set to go!!

Wish us luck, we will let you know how the training is going!

Love
